Changing Lives would like to thank ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for their generous grant of £20,000.
The grant will go towards the costs of our veterans supported accommodation in Bibby House in Gateshead and Brims House in Newcastle for veterans experiencing mental ill-health (affecting 75% of its assisted veterans), homelessness, unemployment and substance misuse. At Bibby and Brims Houses, we help support and guide veterans into independent living as they readjust back into civilian life.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the Army’s national charity which has been providing support for soldiers, veterans and their families since 1944 and we are proud to have worked with them for several years now.
Neil Baird, Director of Operations at Changing Lives, said:
“We are delighted to receive this generous grant from ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, which will help fund our specialist residential veterans support at both Brims and Bibby House. These services offer supported accommodation to people in Newcastle and Gateshead who have been in the Armed Forces and are facing complicated and challenging circumstances. Our dedicated Veterans Support Workers are there to provide holistic support, covering areas such as employment, training, health and wellbeing, to enable veterans to make positive changes in their lives and go on to live independent and fulfilling futures. Thank you ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for your continued support.”
Thank you ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for your support!
